About me

My name is Amy and I live in a small Suburban community in the Pacific Northwest. When I moved here three years ago, I was pretty much blown away by the size of the yard I had. I'd never had so much space before. When I was living in my tiny apartment in the city I used to dream of having a garden full of humming birds and butterflies.

While doing research on what plants I could grow to attract these critters I stumbled across the National Wildlife Federation's site on creating a certified Wildlife Habitat in your own backyard. Ever since then I was hooked.

Not only is the process pretty straightforward, but it can be a fun and rewarding project to take on with your family.

But I was surprised how many people didn't know that such a thing even existed. So I've decided to share the knowledge that I've gathered with anyone that might be interested in undertaking this project for themselves.
